His Holiness The 37th
Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang named our dharma centre after the founder Lord
Ratnashri of Drikung Kagyu
Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism,
. Our centre upholds the principle Drikung Kagyu lineage and at the same
time also supports
the non-sectarian tradition
of Buddhist approach as advised by His Holiness. It's one of the door to
enter into the world
of Buddha-Dharma and for
those who had the karmic affinity with the lineage can also to excel in
the development
of Compassion and Wisdom
through the available yearly programmes or by visiting teachers of the
centre.

Atisas' words; "The best spiritual friend
is the one who attacks our hidden faults."
Do not take them as a window
to observe others' faults, but rather as a mirror for examining our own.

on the Life and Work
of H.E.Garchen Rinpoche
For
the BENEFIT OF ALL SENTIENT BEINGS .........
Born on the roof of the world.
Discovered by a king, as the reincarnation of a great Lama. Enthroned at
the age of 7. Leading a monastic life of study and meditation. Freedom
shattered. Imprisoned for 20 years. Witnessed the death of friends. What
kind of person would YOU become if this had happened to you? Would you
dedicate your life FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL BEINGS? Here is the remarkable
story of one
man who did just that. Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche is a highly revered and
greatly loved master of Tibetan Buddhism. Many of you have seen him in
the movie The Yogis of Tibet. He was featured along with other great master
yogis of the Drikung
Kagyu lineage. Now, in response to long-standing requests by devoted students,
Rinpoche has authorized a movie focusing on his life and teachings. He
personally selected longtime student and award winning filmmaker, Christina
Lundberg, to make this movie. She is following his wishes with great care
and Rinpoche continues to actively endorse this film project. Garchen Rinpoche's
legacy of kindness transcends all religions and cultures; it is the universal
language that will save humanity. Film continues to be, more than ever,
a powerful medium to change, inspire and ultimately transform people’s
hearts -- this is what can make our world a better place FOR THE BENEFIT
OF ALL BEINGS. We ask you to read through this site and find ways to support
this project with your donations, expertise and heart.
With love and gratitude ..........

The Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism
has been inherited by highly accomplished lamas. This is particularly true
of the Drikung Kagyu lineage, which was founded by Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon, whose
main disciple was Nyun Gar Chusum. The details of this lineage and its
significance are described in The Drikung's Golden History. Garchen Rinpoche
is one of the important Master in The Drikung Kagyu order. His lineage
of incarnation can be traced to Gardampa Chödengpa, a disciple of
the great Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön.
Minam
Rinpoche was born on 3 March 1966 in the Ga-xiong village of the Nangchen
district within the Qinghai province. Until 1980, Rinpoche was living as
a herdsman, learning Tibetan and preliminary Buddhist theories on his own.
In 1980, he was ordained at Ka-Trashi Monastery of the Drikung
Kagyu tradition, and began to receive teachings, transmissions and
ritual instructions of the Drikung Kagyu school. Later, Rinpoche entered
a retreat to complete the preliminary practices as prescribed in the Mahamudra
Ngondro.

by Pema Wangchen Rinpoche
There is
no doubt in the mind of every practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism that the
second most unique and extraordinary exemplar of our whole lineage after
Pramodavajra himself, was the powerful Lord Padmasambhava, the Wisdom Master
who was chiefly instrumental in bringing the tradition to Tibet. Known
as the Lotus Guru (padma-guru), the Saint Lama (guru Rinpoche) of Tibet,
and as a "second Buddha", Padmasambhava1 shines with the incomparable brightness
of the morning star in the world's firmament of stellar saints. Long before
he was born, mystics and prophets were signaling his advent. During his
life he drew the respect and veneration of kings and emperors and after
his death the multitude made his memory into an imperishable icon of the
Absolute.

Buddha
Nature is that quality, possessed by all beings, that makes it possible
to wake up, travel on the path of the bodhisattva (‘awake being’), and
attain enlightenment for the benefit of all. In this study course, we will
practice and discuss the first three ‘Vajra Points’ as presented in the
Uttara Tantra, an important shastra, or commentary, on the Buddha’s teachings
on buddha nature. Since this is a subtle and advanced text, a basic familiarity
with the buddhadharma is recommended, although not required. The Uttara
Tantra is a most important third-turning text on which our vajrayana traditions
are based. It presents the view, and then the mahamudra to apply
the view. Although the buddha nature program is not required to take the
mahamudra program, it would provide a good ground and is highly recommended.
Please note that the buddha nature program is not restricted to tantrikas
but to all traditions of Buddhism.

Philosophical Study Path
of Drikung Kagyu called
GONG CHIK
- SINGLE INTENT
Continuation of the Yearly Teaching Course
by Khenpo Konchok Rangdöl.
PROGRAMME
CANCELLED
Brief Intro to The Dharma
Systems and Gong Chik.
In the Vajrayana Vehicle of
Buddhism, there are three different classes of Dharma path namely the Mahamudra,
Maha-Ati
and Mahyamika. It is the aspiration of Ratnashri Buddhist Centre Malaysia
to have all the three Dharma paths made available to those who are interested
to pursue on gradual guided basis by qualified masters. The gradual paths
on Mahamudra and the Maha-Ati is already in progress, therefore it is most
appropriate to start on the Philosophical aspect related to the Madyamika
path of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage. The first course before entry to Madyamika
is the Gong Chik, expounded by the lineage founder Lord
Ratnashri (Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon). His heart disciple Sherab Jungne
did the compilation into text form and it has since been studied and transmitted
to the present day by lineage holders.
The Gong Chik is a complete
path by itself or it can be complimentary to other practices one undertakes.
Lord Ratnashri wrote many commentaries and explanations, especially the
four volumes known as Inner Profound Teachings, in which he gives meditation
instruction and advice. One of his foremost works, the Gong Chik, written
in vajra verses which contains all the essential aspects of Vinaya discipline,
Bodhicitta, and Tantra. This text has many commentaries, both in detail
and concise, by such masters as Sherab Jungne, who was Lord Jigten Sumgon's
own disciple, the 8th Karmapa, the 4th Shamarpa, and Drikung Dharmakirti.
The highest motivation grows
out of the initial and the intermediate. Without the first two there cannot
be the higher development. Why? All answers are contained in the Gong Chik
expounded by Lord Ratnashri himself after he attained full enlightenment.

Introduction
to Dzambhala
The Dzambhala
deity is the embodiment of the perfect generosity of all buddhas. Dzambhala
has existed for inconceivable kalpas. When Buddha Shakyamuni was born as
a poor man, a scavenger of wood, he practiced this deity's meditation.
As a result, he became a king. At that time he exercised the practice of
generosity, bestowing wealth upon others, and thus he attained the first
bhumi (the first of ten levels).
Likewise,
by the practice of perfect generosity, all the buddhas in the past achieved
the first bhumi and then gradually attained buddhahood. Because of this,
Dzambhala is the father of all buddhas. During the time of Buddha's teaching,
Vaishravana had one thousand sons, and among them Dzambhala was reborn
as the supreme one.
Buddha
Shakyamuni said, "If one has not accumulated enough virtue, it is not possible
even to hear Dzambhala's name." Anyone who recites the mantra will
be a chosen one, will achieve a non-returning state, and will not be reborn
in the lower realm. By the blessings of seeing his form and figure, one
will not be afflicted by disease. Reciting his name will dispel all the
poverty, the lower states of mind – discouragement, depression, etc. –
and different kinds of pain in the body. There are limitless beneficial
effects of reciting the Dzambhala mantra. Extracted from Vidyadhara
Chökyi Dragpa's (1595-1659) Jewel Garland of Sadhanas of the Fifty
Initiatory-Permissions (sgrub thabs nor bu'i phreng ba'i rjes gnang lnga
bcu pa). Translated by Ven. Khenchen Rinpoche, Konchog Gyaltshen at the
Drigung Kagyu Meditation Center, Washington, DC.
Yangzab Shithro Empowerment
The Extensive Empowerment of
the Yangzab Three Roots and the Hundred Peaceful and Wrathful Deities of
the Bardo.
The Yangzab Shithro, was revealed
by the great Terton Drikung Rinchen Phuntsok . The extensive empowerment
of the Yangzab Shithro is rarely given, the last time in Malaysia was 6
years ago. This empowerment is a blessing and transmission of the One Hundred
Peaceful and Wrathful Deities of the Bardo. It is the basis for the Three
Roots Practice (Guru, Yidam, and Dakini), and is the foundation of the
Tibetan Book of the Dead. Shithro, which translates as the Peaceful and
Wrathful Bardo Deities , is considered part of the inner tantra. The Shithro
empowerment is an initiation into the 100 Peaceful and Wrathful symbolic
deities that personify each practitioner's skandhas (aggregates of form,
perception, feeling, mental volitions and consciousness) and the great
elements (wind, fire, water and earth). At the moment of death, the elements
dissolve and their nature arises as after-death visions. The Bardo instructions
provide us with a wealth of techniques and practices by which we can recognize
mind's true nature or Buddha nature and achieve liberation. The benefits
of receiving the empowerment, practising it and reciting the mantra are
many. One will recognize the stages of the Bardo as they occur, will not
fall into lower existence, will attain liberation from cyclic existence
and attain Buddhahood.
Yangzab Teachings on the
Practice of the Three Roots (Guru Rinpoche/Yeshe Tsogyal, Hayagriva,
and Vajravarahi)
The Three Roots of practice
in the Vajrayana are the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini. The Lama confers empowering
blessings, the Yidam bestows siddhi(power and realization) and the Dakini
dispels obstacles and performs the Buddha activity. In the Yangzab, the
Three Roots are Guru Rinpoche, Hayagriva, and Vajravarahi. Ontul Rinpoche
will give practice instructions on the extensive Sadhana of the Three Roots.
These teachings are limited to those who have received the Yangzab Shitro
empowerment or the short empowerment of the Yangzab Three Roots.
Introduction
to Ontul Rinpoche
Drikung
Ontül Rinpoche's previous incarnations are connected with Drikung
Orgyen Nuden Dorje, a great discoverer of hidden teachings (gter ston)
of the last century. He was well known as an emanation of Nyang Ban Tingdzin
Sangpo, a great master at the time of the 8th-century Tibetan emperor Thri
Song Detsen. The elder brother of Nuden Dorje and first Ontül was
Kunsang Drodul. He was born into a noble familiy lineage in the village
of Zalmo Gang in Kham province of Eastern Tibet. The 5th Drikung Kyabgon
Chetsang Rinpoche Thugje Nyima (1828-1889) recognized him to be the emanation
of Brog
Ban Khiu Chung Lotsawa, one of the twenty-five main disciples of Guru
Padmasambhava. Since Kunsang Drodul was the elder brother of Orgyan Nuden
Dorje, his successive incarnations are known as Ontül, which means
“the incarnation of the elder brother”. The present incarnation was born
in Kham Nangchen in Eastern Tibet in the year 1950. His family lineage
is called Göpe, or also Pebön Thogtrul, which is one of the thirteen
noble familiy lineages which are again explained as stemming from the inner
lineage of Lodan Nyingpo, who is one of the four ‘ancient Tulkus of Bon
religion, before Padmasambhava’s time. Read
