His Holiness The 37th Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang named our dharma centre after the founder Lord Ratnashri of Drikung Kagyu
Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, . Our centre upholds the principle Drikung Kagyu lineage and at the same time also supports
the non-sectarian tradition of Buddhist approach as advised by His Holiness. It's one of the door to enter into the world
of Buddha-Dharma and for those who had the karmic affinity with the lineage can also to excel in the development
of Compassion and Wisdom through the available yearly programmes or by visiting teachers of the centre.
Atisas' words; "The best spiritual friend is the one who attacks our hidden faults."
Do not take them as a window to observe others' faults, but rather as a mirror for examining our own.

The previous Rabsang Tulku Rinpoche is the reincarnation of Drubwang Rabsang Rinpoche who was born in a nomad's family in Traga district of Tibet, and ordanied as Konchok Rabsang. As a young monk, Drubwang Rabsang Rinpoche learnt Tibetan and various texts and rituals. He received various transmissions and empowerments of the Drigung lineage from the two Drigung Kyabgon, Chuntsang Rinpoche Chokyi Lodro and Chetsang Rinpoche Zhiwe Lodro. And from the Drigung Thil Monastery retreat master, Drubwang Triyin Osel, he received the 5 Limbs of Mahamudra and the 6 Yogas of Rabsang TulkuNaropa and went into a strict retreat. He also received from his teacher Tulku Jamyang Wangje, and was given the transmissions and empowerments of 13 classics as well as the Longchen Nyingthig. Drubwang Rabsang Rinpoche then went again into long term retreat in the practice of Mahamudra, and also the profound path of perfection, gaining a very high realisation. Many tulkus of that time have made the journey to see him to receive instructions on the profound path of perfection. When he passed on at over 70 years of age, Drubwang Rabsang Rinpoche's body shrank tremendously. When his body was finally laid to rest in the mountains, it reduced itself to nothing but hair and nails, an evident sign that he has achieved the rainbow light body.

Avalokiteshvara wt 35 Confession BuddhasThe current reincarnation, Rabsang Tulku Rinpoche, Konchok Trichin Rabsel, was born in the Water Ox year of 1973 in a village in Tashi Jung, near the Drigung Thil Monastery. His father Konchok Tashi and mother Laisang, saw various auspicious signs during his birth.  Since he was a young child, Rabsang Tulku was always very compassionate to all animals, and very devoted to the Dharma, always asking his parents to visit the monasteries. Hence, his parents brought him before the great Drubwang Pachung Rinpoche, who told them :" this child has a very meritorious and virtuous connection, his wisdom will manifest in the future once he has been ordained." So Rabsang Tulku was ordained at Drigung Thil Monastery under Pachung Rinpoche, and was named Konchok Trichin. He studied intensely the various teachings and rituals, subsequently visiting HH the 14th Dalai Lama as well as the two Drigung Kyabgon. He has also studied Sutra and Tantra at the Drigung Institute and Thrangu Institute.

Drubwang Pachung RinpocheIn 1999, during the Snake Year Drigung Prayer Festival, Drigung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche recognised Rabsang Tulku as the reincarnation of Drubwang Rabsang Rinpoche and named him Konchok Gyurmin Rabsel. He was also enthroned then. Since then, Rabsang Tulku Rinpoche received many teachings, transmissions and empowerments from the 2 Drigung Kyabgon, HE Garchen Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche and many other great teachers. Rabsang Tulku Rinpoche currently resides in Rinchenling Monastery, propagating the Dharma and ceaselessly engaged in his practice and studies.

Togden Rinpoche

Togden Rinpoche is the Chöje (Lord of Dharma) the spiritual leader of the Drikung Kagyu tradition in Ladakh and
the reincarnation of the Indian Mahasiddha Hungchen Kara, who centuries later incarnated as the Kongbo Togden Tulku, a disciple of the 17th Drikung lineage holder Gyalwang Rinchen Phuntsog (1509-1557). The following seven reincarnations were born in Tibet and the eighth onwards were in Ladakh.

When the present 9th Chöje Togden Rinpoche was a young boy, he was able to remember many of his past lives and recalls the name of his sister of former life. During one of the pilgrimage, there was a cave in which Guru Rinpoche had meditated. With great devotion, Togden Rinpoche prayed and prostrate for Guru Rinpoche to show him signs to further enhance his devotion. From the mouth of the cave, appears rainbow and Guru Rinpoche. During that estatic moment of seeing Guru Rinpoche, the young Togden Rinpoche's foot sink into solid rock and left an imprint which was witness by many nuns. This rock imprint can still be seen today.

The previous Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche Shiwai Lodro Recognized him as the incarnation of Togden Tulku. In 1943 he was enthroned as Chöje Togden Tulku in Shachukhul Monastery, one of the three largest monastery of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage in Ladakh which is also located very close to his birth place. He received the traditional education of this monastery, and in 1952 accompanied by his teacher Gegen Sonam, travelled through India to Drikung Thil Monastery in central Tibet, where he received teachings from many spiritual masters.

From 1954-1959 he studied at the philosophical school of Drikung Nyimai Changra. In 1959 when China over-took Tibet, accompanied by his teacher and many Ladakhi monks, he came back to Ladakh.

Since then, Rinpoche has been carrying out his responsibilities for fifty Drikung Kagyu Monastery in Ladakh while maintaining the Drikung Kagyu tradition there. Togden Rinpoche holds the special transmission Gongchig, Yangzab, Yamantaka, Phowa and Dharmapalas of Drikung Kagyu tradition. Besides being an important transmission holder of Drikung Kagyu, Rinpoche also holds the transmission for Rinchen Terzod of the Nyingmapa tradition.

In the beginning of 1967, Rinpoche arranged for the Rinchen Terzod empowerment to be given at Tso Pema, Rewalsar. One of the most sacred places of Guru Padmasambhava, where H.H. Dujom Rinpoche gave this empowerment to a great assembly consisting of thirty Tulku and several thousand people. Consequently, H.H.Dujom Rinpoche initiated him as his successor for imparting this great empowerment of Rinchen Terzod.

Years later, Rinpoche discovered several sacred hidden places and also revealed some mind treasured texts. His collected works comprise of one volume, which contains a short commentary on Gongschig. Read more ....

DRIKUNG DZOGCHEN COMMUNITY founded by Ontül Rinpoche comprises of small groups of students who share common interest pursuing the Path of Enlightenment following the Maha-Ati (Dzogpa Chenpo) system. It is commonly known as Dzogchen or Great Perfection and the unbroken lineage is traced back to Samantabadra or Kuntuzangpo. This practice system flourished mainly due to the kindness of  Guru Rinpoche, well known as the Father of Buddhism in Tibet.
Drikung Ontül Rinpoche who worked tirelessly propagating the Dzogchen teachings around the world encourages students to form practice groups which offers support to each other. DDC sources of teachings are mainly from the Yangzab Terma and Bongtül Nüden Dorje Kabum. The revelers of these Dharma Tresures are masters who uphold the lineage of Drikung Kagyu. This is the reason to name it The Drikung Dzogchen Community. May the benefits prevail and continue to spread far & wide!
When the Yanzab is first made known on the Internet, there are nothing searchable on the web. After it's start in 2001 in the form of DDC, it'd since flourished and there are so many information available on the web. Learn more about Yangzab .....
