Brief Intro to Khenpo
Rangdol

Born in 1975, Venerable Khenpo Rangdol was
ordained as a monk at a very young age, at Lama Yuru Monastery, Ladakh.
His aptitude and learning potential for Buddhist studies enabled him to
progress rapidly to higher studies. As a result, he was recommended
to pursue further studies of Buddhist Philosophy at the Drikung Kagyu Institute,
Dehra Dun. During the nine years of intensive studies, his keenness
of mind and perceptive qualities earned him meritorious recognition.
His curriculum includes covering the entire Tripitika texts, Gongchik and
the collection of teachings of the Kagyu Lineage. In the year 1998,
his Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang conferred upon him the title of Khenpo.
His wide and varied teachings were well received.
In addition to his charismatic leadership, he won accolades amongst his
contemporaries leading to his appointment to the position of the Principal
of Drikung Kagyu Institute in the year 2001. This |
achievement also recognizes him as the youngest
Khenpo ever appointed at the Drikung Kagyu Institute.
His experience includes extensive travels
to Germany propagating the Dharma teachings to an ever-growing population
of devotees. Not only does he excel in his teaching abilities, he
has also completed a one-year retreat. |
